Following the successful art program at the neighbouring Emporium Development, Anthony John Group commissioned UAP to design an entry statement for this commercial foyer.
UAP designers Belinda Smith and Jamie Perrow took inspiration from the archetypal corporate gentleman, a well-dressed connoisseur of fine things. In particular, they selected the striped necktie as an expression of style, and explored the use of stripes in artwork and fashion in recent history.
The final, bold design is based on the rich red of the Emporium development, and is used across the seating, lift wall and suspended lighboxes to create a strong, directional sense of movement into the foyer.
For this location, UAP developed a system of suspended laser cut ceiling panels which vary over two levels to soften and give depth to the overhead space.
